This
scaled-down version of La Bohème by Puccini can be performed
either in Italian or English translation with four soloists taking
the principal parts, and an actor / singer performing the roles
of Benoit (the landlord) and Alcindoro (A councillor of state).
It is presented with piano accompaniment. The Chorus scenes are
cut and the length of the opera is therefore shortened, but the
dramatic intensity of this wonderfully moving opera is never diminished.
"Alexander
Anderson-Hall was Mimi's fluent-voiced seducer, his singing acquiring
greater emotional depth in the third act scenes with both Mimi
and Marcello" (Opera Magazine, November 2007)
